TTEHRAN, May 03 (YPA) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Amir Akraminia, issued a stern warning on Saturday, stating that any new aggression by the “enemy” would be met with “new tools and methods” that Tehran has not yet deployed.
In a statement on Saturday, Akraminia said that control over the Strait of Hormuz also translates into strategic leverage over adversaries, stressing the strategic importance of the key maritime route.
He stated that the Strait of Hormuz is “firmly controlled,” adding that no vessel can pass through it without Iranian permission or authorization.
He noted the growing economic importance of the international waterway, predicting that Iran’s revenues from managing and regulating navigation in the Strait of Hormuz this year would exceed its crude oil sales.
The remarks come amid rising regional tensions, reflecting Iran’s armed forces readiness to assert control over key maritime routes and develop deterrence strategies against external threats.
