SANAA, May 01 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast continued rainfall of varying intensity across parts of several governorates over the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin issued this Friday, the center said that torrential thunderstorms accompanied by hail are likely to hit areas in Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Sanaa, Mahwit, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz.
Moderate to heavy rainfall, also accompanied by thunder, is expected in parts of Al Bayda, Al Dhalea, and Hodeida, as well as the highlands Jawf, Marib, Abyan, and Lahj.
The center has warned citizens against entering or crossing valleys and flood-prone areas during and after rainfall due to the risk of sudden flash floods.
Residents are advised to stay away from power poles and tall trees to avoid lightning strikes.
Drivers are cautioned regarding reduced horizontal visibility, potential rockslides, and mudslides on mountain passes and slopes caused by heavy rain, low clouds, or dense fog.
