TEHRAN, April 30 (YPA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian asserted on Thursday that any attempts to impose restrictions or a naval blockade on his country contravene international law and are “doomed to failure.”
He emphasized that territorial waters are part of the international system, and their security must be based on cooperation rather than unilateral dictates.
Pezeshkian noted that “the enemy” has shifted its strategy toward economic pressure and naval blockades, arguing that foreign presence destabilizes the region and escalates tensions.
He further reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to the freedom of navigation for all nations—except “hostile” ones—describing the Strait of Hormuz as a “cornerstone of national identity and a symbol of resilience.”
