LONDON, April 29 (YPA) – British police have launched an investigation after a stabbing incident in north London left two Jewish men injured.
The incident took place in Golders Green, a neighborhood with a significant Jewish community.
The two victims, one in his 70s and one in his 30s, were both in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
According to authorities, the suspect has a history of serious violence and mental health issues.
Investigators said they are continuing to determine the motive and have not excluded the possibility of ideological reasons.
Shomrim, the Jewish community security organisation, said the attacker was seen running with a knife and attempting to stab several residents before one of its members intervened and detained him.
Police then arrived and Tasered a man who has been arrested.
The victims are being treated by Hatzola, whose ambulances were set on fire across the road from today’s incident last month.
The incident comes amid heightened concerns over safety in parts of the capital, with reports of increased tensions and attacks targeting Jewish communities in recent months.
