A statement by the Israeli Defense Ministry, cited by” Walla” News, said the awards were granted in recognition of the officers’ role in bringing the Israeli-made system into initial operational service in Germany starting December 2025.
The deal, valued at around $6.7 billion, is described as the largest defense export agreement in Israel’s history.
The two Israeli officers received the German honors during a ceremony held at a German Air Force base.
According to Walla, the decorations are among Germany’s highest military honors, awarded to civilians and foreign military personnel only in exceptional cases.

Israeli occupation entity signed its largest-ever defense deal with Germany in 2023. The project is led by Israel Aerospace Industries, which manufactures the Arrow-3 missile defense system, along with subcontractors including Elbit Systems, Tomer, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
However, since the contract was signed between the defense ministries in Berlin and Tel Aviv, the honors were awarded to Israeli defense ministry officials, according to Walla! News.
