Trump extends ceasefire with Iran

WASHINGTON, April 22 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump announced an indefinite extension of the ceasefire with Iran, following mediation efforts led by Pakistan.

In a statement posted on social media, Trump said the United States had agreed to a request from Pakistani mediators “to halt our attack on Iran until its leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal and conclude negotiations, one way or another.”

Pakistan has is currently hosting peace talks between the US and Iran aimed at reaching an agreement to end the war that began on February 28.

On April 8, Trump announced his agreement to a two-week suspension of the US-Israeli war on Iran.
