GAZA, April 21 (YPA) – Mahmoud Mardawi, a senior figure in the Hamas movement stated that the attack carried out on Tuesday by settler groups on the village of Al-Mughayyir, in the occupied West Bank, which targeted a school and its surroundings, constitutes a grave and compounded crime.
He described it as a dangerous escalation marked by the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure and children.
In a news statement, Mardawi mourned the two victims, 14-year-old Aws Hamdi Al-Na’san and 32-year-old Jihad Marzouk Abu Naim, affirming that such attacks, alongside ongoing violations, will not undermine Palestinian resolve but will instead reinforce their attachment to their land and determination to defend it.
He called for increased public mobilization and the intensification of various forms of resistance across the West Bank, alongside strengthening the role of local protection committees in affected areas and reinforcing resilience in the face of settler violence.
Mardawi also urged the international community to take immediate action to halt settler attacks and to pressure Israeli authorities to end policies that, he said, contribute to escalating violence and extremism.
