New US strikes hit Iran as explosions rock several cities

TEHRAN, July 21 (YPA) – A series of heavy US airstrikes targeted several provinces and cities across southern and southwestern Iran, according to Iranian reports.

Tasnim news agency said explosions were reported at the ports of Bandar Abbas, Chabahar, and Konarak in southern Iran.

Iran’s IRNA news agency reported explosions in Shiraz and Bandar Lengeh Port, as a result of another US attack on the Port in Hormozgan Province.

Meanwhile, Iran’s UN ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani called on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council to swiftly and unequivocally condemn the US attack on the Darkhovin nuclear power plant.

The past few days have seen a series of US attacks on Iran, most of which have targeted coastal areas, particularly the southern coastline, including ports, coastal surveillance towers, key maritime facilities, and civilian infrastructure. Iran has responded by targeting US bases in the region.
