SHABWA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – The Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Shabwa province launched a sharp verbal attack on Saudi forces on Tuesday, accusing them of seeking to turn the province into a breeding ground for militias serving foreign agendas.
In a statement, the Shabwa branch of the STC said the recent events at Al-Alam Camp in Jardan district represented a military failure by Saudi Arabia that cannot be overlooked or accepted as a recurring occurrence.
It also disclosed that Riyadh was continuing to establish new military centers, including one in the Al-Wat’ah area near the city of Ataq of the province.
The statement warned against Saudi Arabia’s malicious objectives in drawing residents of Shabwa and other southern provinces into conflicts and rival militias, and reproducing destructive scenarios that have devastated several Arab countries, including Syria, Libya and Sudan.
It added that the people of the South do not need new armed formations outside the framework of the STC.
The STC called on citizens and parents in Shabwa and other areas not to send their sons to the newly established recruitment camps or be drawn in by appealing slogans and false financial incentives.
It said these efforts aimed to fracture social cohesion and turn young people into fuel for suspicious destructive projects.
