Progress in Iran-US talks moves them into new phase
Islamabad talks enter technical phase; Tehran ties success to US accountability
TEHRAN, April 11 (YPA) – Iranian media outlets have announced that the ongoing Iranian-American talks in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, have moved into the technical and professional stage.
Specialized committees have begun detailed consultations on complex issues, amid intensive diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan to bridge the gap between the two sides.
Technical committees commenced their work following high-level meetings between the Iranian delegation, headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Army Chief.
Tehran informed the Pakistani side of its core proposals, which include a ceasefire, the release of frozen assets, war reparations, and the status of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran cautioned against a “US scenario” aimed at blaming “Israel” for any potential failure to absolve Washington, asserting that the US administration bears primary responsibility for the outcome.
The Iranian government emphasized its commitment to its rights, noting that its armed forces are “on high alert with fingers on the trigger” in parallel with the diplomatic track.
For its part, the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Office praised the “constructive engagement” of both the Iranian and American delegations, expressing hope that these discussions will pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
