TEHRAN, April 11 (YPA) – A senior Iranian military official denied on Saturday the claims by the American website “Axios” regarding the passage of a US Navy ship through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian television.
Tasnim news agency quoted an Iranian security official refuting the Axios report of US Navy vessels crossing the strait during the day.
Sources confirm that no ship has traversed the Strait of Hormuz since the ceasefire took effect.
Earlier, the Iranian Fars agency reported that Iranian forces had informed their negotiating delegation about the movement of a US destroyer from Fujairah port toward the Strait of Hormuz.
Fars stated that Iran warned the Pakistani mediator that the destroyer would be targeted within 30 minutes if it continued its course.
According to the report, the US destroyer halted its advance following Iran’s firm response and warnings issued by the Iranian delegation in Pakistan.
Tasnim further quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman confirming that the American destroyer is now retreating from the Strait of Hormuz after Iran’s stern warning.
