Abidah tribes in Marib protest “marginalization,” demand fair share of Safer oil wealth

MARIB, April 11 (YPA) – Dozens of Abidah tribesmen held on Saturday an angry protest east of Marib city, which is under the control of Islah Party factions, to denounce systematic marginalization and the collapse of basic services, primarily electricity.

Protesters demanded fair employment opportunities, agricultural support through the opening of water channels, and an end to exclusionary policies.

Participants raised banners rejecting what they described as “settlement” and the plundering of resources from the Safer oil facility.

They emphasized that billions in revenues are being squandered without investment in local education, health, or road projects, asserting their refusal to be treated as strangers on their own resource-rich land.
