BEIRUT, April 06 (YPA) – About two paramedics were killed and a third was seriously injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a medical team affiliated with the Islamic Health Authority in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health declared on Monday.
In a statement carried by the National News Agency, the ministry said the strike occurred in the town of Haris in the Bint Jbeil district, where Israeli occupation’s aircraft directly hit the paramedic team, resulting in two fatalities and one critical injury.
The ministry strongly condemned repeated and systematic attacks on Lebanon’s health sector, stating that such actions demonstrate Israeli enemy’s disregard for international and humanitarian laws that protect medical personnel in conflict zones.
It added that efforts are ongoing to pursue legal action in international courts and paid tribute to the paramedics who lost their lives while carrying out humanitarian duties.
The ministry also noted that since March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have intensified, with increased airstrikes targeting towns, villages, and cities, alongside broader regional escalations involving Iran.
