Iran thwarts US rescue operation, warns of “unrestricted” retaliation

TEHRAN, April 05 (YPA) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it has dealt a “humiliating defeat” to US forces after thwarting an operation to rescue an American pilot inside Iranian territory.

The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters confirmed the destruction of two Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 transport aircraft during the engagement.

On the political and military fronts, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dispatched a letter to the United Nations, warning that any targeting of nuclear facilities would constitute a grave violation of international law.

General Ali Abdollahi threatened to strike US military and Zionist infrastructure with an “unrestricted” response should Iranian assets be attacked.

Western media outlets, including “The Atlantic,” criticized the American approach, while Tel Aviv witnessed settler protests demanding an end to the escalation and aggression.

These events reflect a shift in the field’s balance of power, amid Iranian readiness to impose new equations of deterrence in the region.
