Iraqi soldier killed, others injured in attack at Al-Qaim border crossing

BAGHDAD, April 04 (YPA) – Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Authority said on Saturday that its 45th Brigade, part of the Al-Jazeera Operations sector, was targeted in an attack at the border crossing in the Al-Qaim district.

The authority stated that the one member was killed and four others to an affiliate of the Ministry of Defense.were injured in an airstrike.

It added that PMF positions and headquarters have faced repeated US attacks over the past month, coinciding with the escalation of U.S.-Israeli operations against Iran.

In response, Iraq’s Ministerial Council has instructed the armed forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces to exercise their right to self-defense and respond to such attacks.

Diplomatically, the council also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to file an official complaint with the UN Security Council, calling for condemnation of the attacks and demanding an immediate halt.
