OCCUPIED PALESTINE, March 30 (YPA) –Hebrew media reported on Monday that a minister in the Israeli occupation government narrowly escaped death at the start of the war after being targeted in a Hezbollah missile strike.
According to Israeli Channel 15, the attack took place during an official visit by the minister to areas in northern “Israel”. The revelation comes about a month after the outbreak of the war and its subsequent escalation.
Meanwhile, an official in a VIP protection unit, who spoke during a closed session said the incident posed a direct threat to the minister’s life.
The channel added that, following the incident, restrictions were imposed on the movements of political officials, preventing them from visiting certain sensitive locations as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.
In a related development, Israeli media reported on Sunday evening that a Knesset session was suspended after air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem.
Members of the Knesset had been holding a session on the annual budget when the sirens went off, prompting lawmakers to take shelter until the situation was secured.
A spokesperson for the Israeli Knesset later said the parliamentary session would resume as soon as possible after being temporarily halted due to the sirens in Quds (Jerusalem).
