TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced the detention of two French diplomats on charges of interfering in the country’s internal affairs, noting that it had discovered the signature of a former French ambassador on documents linked to a spy plot.
According to the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, preliminary investigations revealed a large-scale espionage operation involving covert communication with operatives inside and outside Iran, as well as the establishment of intelligence networks.
“France bears full responsibility for its illegal and intrusive actions, and we demand official explanations from Paris,” the ministry said in an official statement.
The ministry further stated that during the execution of a judicial order to arrest two suspects in a critical foreign interference and infiltration case, two French diplomats were found present illegally at the location of a secret meeting.
