Al-Mashat: 11 Years of Yemeni steadfastness foiled US-Zionist plots; Riyadh procrastinates on peace obligations

SANAA, March 25 (YPA) – The President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, affirmed that Yemen marks “National Steadfastness Day” as the foreign aggression enters its 11th year.

In a speech he delivered on the occasion of National Steadfastness Day on Wednesday, he emphasized that this aggression, which began on March 26, 2015, led by Saudi Arabia with American coordination, was carried out at the behest of the White House and under Zionist provocation as part of the “Greater Israel” and “New Middle East” schemes.

Al-Mashat described the aggression as “treacherous,” devoid of Islamic values and international laws, pointing to “spine-chilling massacres” committed against women and children and the unjustified destruction of infrastructure.

He stated that 11 years of Yemeni steadfastness is no longer merely self-defense, but a defense of the “dignity of the entire nation,” revealing that participating regimes were merely tools for implementing US-Zionist agendas.

Al-Mashat stressed Yemen’s commitment to a peace that preserves sovereignty and honors the blood of the martyrs.

He criticized “Riyadh’s procrastination” and its evasion of the roadmap obligations, including:

  1. Payment of salaries and lifting the blockade.
  2. Ending economic sanctions.
  3. Full withdrawal of foreign forces.
  4. Addressing prisoner swaps, reparations, and reconstruction.

Al-Mashat warned that “the Yemeni people’s patience is not infinite,” asserting that Yemen is moving toward seizing its full rights by any means it deems appropriate should the Saudi regime continue its stalling tactics.

On the regional level, Al-Mashat reaffirmed Yemen’s support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its legitimate right to self-defense, calling on Arab and Islamic nations not to become tools for Zionist projects targeting the region.
