SANAA, March. 25 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning in Sana’a issued urgent warnings to citizens on Wednesday about scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity.
The center predicted that several governorates would experience unstable weather conditions over the next 24 hours, requiring the utmost caution.
It indicated that thunderstorms of varying intensity were expected in parts of Al Mahrah, Hadramout, Shabwah, the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, Al Bayda, Al Dale’a, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, and Saada governorates.
The center also noted the possibility of scattered rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder, in parts of Sana’a, Amran, Al Mahweet, Hajjah, and Raymah governorates, extending to the plateaus and deserts of Ma’rib and Al Jawf governorates.
The center warned citizens in the areas expected to receive rainfall about the risk of flash floods in ravines and valleys, and advised against being in or crossing them during and after the rainfall
The warning was renewed for drivers regarding reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to low clouds or fog, and against crossing overpasses during flash floods.
