BUDAPEST, March 21 (YPA) – Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called on Hungarian authorities to fulfill their legal obligations and arrest Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he arrive in the country on Saturday for a scheduled political conference.
The call is based on arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in November 2024 against Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, on charges related to war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
In its statement, the organization emphasized that member states of the Rome Statute must execute international arrest warrants, asserting that officials wanted by international justice must be held accountable regardless of current political complexities.
