Al-Mashat: “Armed forces operations target Saudi mobilizations; int’l navigation is safe”

SANAA, Sept. 25 (YPA) – Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, declared on Friday evening in a speech marking the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution that the Saudi regime is seeking to return Yemen under its guardianship and dependency.

He noted that decades of Saudi intervention have hindered the building of a strong and independent Yemeni state, the extraction of its oil and gas resources, and the establishment of a national army.

Al-Mashat stated that Saudi Arabia’s military intervention was launched to derail and contain the September 21 Revolution, but collided with the resolve of the Yemeni people. He called for strengthening national awareness and resisting deceptive Saudi narratives.

He affirmed that operations by the armed forces specifically target “Saudi enemy mobilizations” and have no bearing on international maritime navigation. He stressed that international shipping remains safe and that Sanaa abides by its international obligations regarding maritime security.

Reiterating support for the Palestinian people and their cause, al-Mashat called on nations that aligned with Saudi statements regarding Mecca to take action in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Furthermore, al-Mashat renewed his call for individuals aligned with Saudi forces to reconsider their position and return home, emphasizing that Yemen has room for all its citizens. He stressed the need for continued steadfastness, redoubling efforts, and upholding Yemen’s sovereignty, independent decision-making, and national aspirations.
