SANAA, March 19 (YPA) – Member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, Hizam al-Assad, launched on Thursday a scathing critique of the Saudi regime, describing it as entirely dependent on the US administration—going beyond even the notion of a regional proxy.
In a post on X, Assad argued that the policies of what he called the “oil sheikhdoms” have become a burden on the nation’s dignity and its national security.
He stated that the Saudi regime is “even below the level of a US agent in the region,” explaining that while an agent may possess some legal standing and limited authority, the Saudi leadership has acted merely as a subordinate, reacting to and amplifying the influence of Donald Trump.
Assad added that many Arab and Muslim observers now hope to see the oil sheikhdoms and American military bases removed, returning instead to a more independent and self-reliant regional order, which he claimed would better preserve national dignity, protect future generations, and guard against external interference.
He further asserted that American and Israeli dominance over Arab and Islamic nations has been strengthened by Gulf oil wealth.
