Over 1.04 million IDPs in Lebanon amid escalating Israeli aggression since March 2

BEIRUT, March 16 (YPA) – Lebanese authorities announced on Monday that the number of self-registered internally displaced persons (IDPs) due to the escalation of Israeli occupation aggression on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 1,049,328.

The National News Agency, citing the Disaster Risk Management Unit at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, reported that the death toll has reached 886, with 2,141 people injured.

The unit said that 132,742 of the displaced are currently staying in 622 shelter centers opened by the Lebanese authorities, representing a total of 33,622 families.

It also noted that Lebanon has been subjected to 2,235 occupation attacks since March 2, amid intensified airstrikes targeting Lebanese towns, villages and cities, coinciding with the ongoing aggression by the United States and the occupation against Iran.
