AMMAN, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Jordan’s State Security Court issues a 10-year prison sentence against 3 Jordanian youths from Al-Baqa’a camp, on charges of supporting the Palestinian resistance during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle.
On Wednesday, the court found Mohammad Al-Oufi, Malek Al-Ghanem, and Qatada Al-Adassi — all from the Al-Baqa’a camp — guilty of charges related to coordinating with resistance groups, receiving training, and planning to enter occupied Palestinian territories to carry out operations against Israeli forces, according to the indictment.
Sources familiar with the case said the ruling comes more than eight months after the men’s arrest and subsequent interrogation by Jordan’s General Intelligence Department.
The sources also reported that the detainees were subjected to psychological pressure and alleged torture during interrogations to extract confessions.
The verdict reportedly shocked the families of the defendants due to the length of the sentences.
Following the ruling, Mohammad Al-Oufi was quoted as saying: “We are not regretful. Tell the people of Gaza and our mothers there, who were calling on the nation, that we tried not to be among the inactive and passive. Forgive us, and if given the chance, we would do it again.”
