SANAA, Feb. 07 (YPA) – Ilham Ahmed, co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), considered the Syrian Transitional Government’s decision regarding Kurdish rights a positive historical step, as it is the first official recognition of them.
During her participation in a meeting of the Union of Intellectuals in the city of Qamishli, Ilham confirmed the existence of an ongoing project aimed at “the freedom of peoples,” warning against attempts to incite internal fighting among the various groups, particularly against the Kurdish people.
She revealed plans to form special teams and brigades in Hasakah and Kobani with women’s participation, in addition to organizing civil society work and promoting language and culture, noting the formation of a constitutional committee that will be announced later to ensure the inclusion of Kurdish rights in the constitution.
In closing, she stressed the need to be wary of attempts to ignite strife, affirming that Kurdish unity has become a reality, and that work is underway to return the forcibly displaced to their areas.
