Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” factions cut off coastal road, prevent citizens from reaching Mahra

HADRAMOUT, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Saudi-backed forces in Hadramout governorate detained, on Wednesday, dozens of buses and taxis carrying hundreds of citizens, preventing them from reaching Mahra governorate in eastern Yemen.

A well-informed local source confirmed that elements affiliated with the “Dera Al-Watan” factions in the coastal area of Al-Dis Al-Sharqiyah in Hadramout detained all buses and taxis heading to Mahra and refused to allow passengers to pass, without providing any justification for these actions.

The source reported that the area is witnessing a large traffic jam, with long queues of vehicles extending near the “Dera Al-Watan” checkpoint, describing these measures as arbitrary.

He pointed out that hundreds of travelers, including women, children, and the elderly, are stranded in the area in difficult conditions, with no regard for the humanitarian needs of the travelers who are waiting for a decision allowing them to reach Mahra.
