Fifth assassination attempt targeting southern leader in Riyadh revealed

RIYADH, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Informed political sources have revealed that Nasser Sarea Al-Anburi, Commander of the “Special Security Forces,” was rushed to intensive care at a Riyadh hospital following a sudden heart attack.

This incident is being described as a “silent assassination” attempt—the fifth of its kind targeting high-ranking Southern Yemeni figures within a single week.

This medical emergency involving Al-Anburi, who is from Abyan, is part of a suspicious string of fatalities and injuries occurring in the Saudi capital over just eight days. The series of events has claimed the lives of Brigadier Abdullah Al-Jayyad Al-Yafei (Commander of the 31st Al-Amaliqa Brigade) and Saleh Al-Marfadi (former Chief of Staff’s Office Director) in separate traffic accidents.

Additionally, Major General Abdul-Raqib Thabit Al-Subihi passed away from a sudden heart attack, while politician Ali Al-Jibwani narrowly survived a similar cardiac event.

In light of these rapid successions of deaths and illnesses, widespread shock has permeated Yemeni circles, fueling speculation of “quiet liquidations.” These suspicions point toward a coordinated effort to neutralize key leaders who were summoned to Riyadh for the “South-South Dialogue,” an event that has since been indefinitely postponed.
