Iran issues stern warnings to US, ‘Israel’ amid rising tensions

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (YPA) -Amid an unprecedented escalation, Iran on Saturday issued stern warnings to the United States and ‘Israel’, signaling that its forces are at high readiness and could respond to any aggression, including strikes that might reach deep into Israeli territory.

Ali Shamkhani, Iran’s Supreme Leader representative on the country’s Supreme Defense Council, warned that any hostile move against Iran would be met with a firm and deterrent response, stressing Tehran is fully prepared for scenarios that could exceed an adversary’s expectations.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Shamkhani said Iran’s absolute priority is achieving full readiness to deter any threat, and any hostile action will be answered proportionately and effectively.

He highlighted that Iran’s response could target the “strategic depth of the Israeli regime” and stressed that its preparedness is not limited to maritime domains, but extends to broader and more advanced scenarios.

Addressing Iran’s adversaries, Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami said they miscalculated by thinking domestic issues could be exploited to stir unrest.

He said the Iranian people decisively defended the country’s territorial integrity, independence, and political system, forcing the enemy to seek a ceasefire.

These warnings come as Iran’s Intelligence Ministry reaffirmed its full support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in response to the EU designating the force as a “terrorist organization.”

The ministry said the Revolutionary Guard constitutes a “key barrier against terrorism,” reaffirming its full support for the force in facing any external threats.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran are escalating amid US threats to deploy a large military fleet to the region and consider non-diplomatic options, while Iran has hinted at an unprecedented response that could target US and Israeli bases. Gulf and regional efforts are underway to prevent the conflict from erupting into a full-scale confrontation.
