Gaza death toll mounts to 71,550 amid ongoing Israeli strikes

GAZA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – A total of the death toll from the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has reached 71,550 martyrs, with 71,353 injured, according to a statement the Gaza-based health ministry said in on Monday.

The statement said the Strip’s hospitals have received two martyrs and 12 wounded during the past 48 hours.

It clarified that 465 Palestinians have been killed and 1,275 injured during this period due to ongoing breaches despite a ceasefire that officially took effect on October 11, 2025.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, while ambulance and Civil Defense crews unable to reach them,” the statement added.
