Violent explosions target pro-STC sites in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 30 (YPA) – Violent explosions followed by armed clashes broke out on Tuesday evening in Al-Khasha area of Hadramout province, east of Yemen.

Local sources said that the clashes took place between armed elements supported by Saudi Arabia and armed groups of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC(in the region.

The provinces of Hadramout and Mahra are witnessing a state of cautious calm and intense anticipation, coinciding with the approaching expiration of the deadline set by Saudi Arabia for the STC to announce its official and final position and withdraw its forces from the two provinces.

Observers believe that the explosion of the military situation in “Khasha” may reflect the scale of the escalating tension and mutual military movements between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
