QUDS, Dec. 29 (YPA) – A Jewish rabbi said on Monday that the UAE leadership has presented a different picture of the Middle East, stressing that Jewish life in Abu Dhabi is flourishing and reflects what he called real peace in the Gulf region.
According to the Israeli website” world Israel News”, Rabbi Efrem Goldberg, the chief rabbi of the Boca Raton Synagogue, returned from a leadership visit to Dubai and Abu Dhabi with what he called a frank message that “the Middle East is not a single novel,” stressing that Israeli occupation’s allies in the region deserve more recognition and support.
During his visit, Goldberg met with Emirati officials and figures opposed to entrenched anti-Semitism, including Luay Al-Sharif, who said he grew up hating Jews before changing his views through personal experience and now openly advocates for Muslim-Jewish relations.
The Jewish rabbi also highlighted what he described as visible Jewish life in Abu Dhabi, including communal prayers, Kosher food, Mikvah, Jewish school, as well as the Holocaust exhibition at the crossroads of Civilizations Museum, which he described as a strong reaction to denial and distortion.
He also pointed out that UAE Federal National Council member Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, one of the architects of normalization with “Israel”, warned that internal divisions within “Israel” weaken it from within—advice that Goldberg said “Israel” should not ignore.
