Meteorology wans of cold conditions, rough seas in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology warned on Sunday visitors of the rise of waves in the sea and fishermen of the disturbance south of the West Coast and the entrance to Bab el-Mandeb.

In its air bulletin, the center called on citizens to take caution as a result of the cold weather in the mountainous highlands and inland plateaus.

It explained that the weather situation during the next 24 hours would witness awakening and cold weather in the mountainous highlands, with the possibility of fog or water mist forming on parts of the highlands of Taiz, Dhalea, Abyan, Shabwa and Hajjah provinces.

Partly cloudy weather is expected in the coastal areas, with the possibility of sporadic rains on parts of the Socotra Archipelago, the southern coast and adjacent inland areas, with active winds south of the West Coast and the Bab el-Mandeb entrance reaching a maximum speed of 25 knots.
