SANAA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – Gold prices in Yemen saw a significant spike on Thursday, reaching record levels across jewelry markets in both Sanaa and Aden.

In Aden, the price of a gold pound surged to 1,615,000 YER, while 21-karat gold reached 210,400 YER per gram. This reflects a weekly increase exceeding 60,000 YER for the gold pound.

In Sanaa, the gold pound rose to 527,000 YER, with 21-karat gold priced at 67,500 YER per gram, marking an increase of 18,000 YER for the gold pound since the beginning of the week.

This latest rally follows a period of record growth throughout November, driven by fluctuations in local currency exchange rates across the country.
