Severe cold wave hits 14 Yemeni provinces, turbulent seas ahead

SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning issued a high-level alert on Saturday regarding a severe cold wave sweeping across 14 Yemeni provinces, primarily affecting mountainous highlands and inland plateaus.

The Center warned of potential frost formation, urging the elderly, children, and farmers to take all necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the low temperatures.

Simultaneously, a maritime warning was issued for fishermen and seafarers due to extreme sea turbulence and high waves. These conditions are expected to affect the eastern and southern coasts, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Socotra Archipelago, driven by intensified wind activity.
