STC forces launch raids against military leaders from Abyan in Aden

ADEN, Dec. 19 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces continued a security campaign on Thursday targeting military and security leaders hailing from Abyan province within the city of Aden, amid rising political and field tensions.

The STC forces raided the home of “Abu Aisha al-Ja’ari,” the former commander of the Middle Zone in the ‘Security Belt Forces’ in the Al-Memdara area, and took him to an unknown location.

The raids also targeted the home of “Abu al-Zubair al-Ja’ari,” a leader in the ‘Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade’. Sources reported that forces ransacked the property and terrorized women and children.

These actions coincide with an STC military operation aimed at seizing control of Abyan.

According to Southern sources, the campaign is viewed as a systematic effort to eliminate military and tribal figures from Abyan and eastern provinces. This is reportedly intended to consolidate the dominance of leaders from “Dhalea province”—the home region of STC President Aidarous al-Zubaidi—within the council’s structure.
