HAVANA, Dec. 18 (YPA) – Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that Havana rejects the extension of unilateral sanctions and coercive measures imposed by the European Union on Venezuela.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez wrote on X: We reject the extension of the European Union’s unilateral sanctions and coercive measures against Venezuela, which are contrary to international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”
He added, “These actions seek to increase pressure on the government of the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution and serve aggressive and neo-colonialist US interests.”
Earlier the same day, Cuba condemned the US president’s announcement of a naval blockade on oil tankers headed to Venezuela, calling it an escalation of aggression against the Venezuelan government.
