Reporters Without Borders: “Israel” remained leading killer of journalists in 2025
GAZA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – A report published by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) affirmed that “Israel” recorded the highest number of journalist killings worldwide in 2025, underscoring its status as the most dangerous country for media professionals.
The report, published on the organization’s official website, shows that 67 journalists were killed worldwide last year, nearly half of them in the Gaza Strip.
The report clarified that the Israeli war of extermination on the Gaza Strip alone led to the martyrdom of 29 Palestinian journalists during 2025, which represents 43% of the total journalists killed this year.
The organization mentioned that the number of journalists who have been martyred since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza in October 2023 has exceeded 220 journalists, in addition to the arrest of 20 Palestinian journalists in Israeli prisons.
The report further detailed that the Israeli war of extermination, with US support, on the Gaza Strip over the past two years has resulted in more than 70,000 martyrs and over 171,000 injured, according to Palestinian statistics.
Since the ceasefire took effect, the Israeli army has committed 738 violations, killing 373 Palestinians and injuring 970 others, according to a statement by the Gaza Media Office .
