Saudi Arabia postpones Six Kings Slam tennis tournament to December

RIYADH, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has postponed the Six Kings Slam tennis tournament, originally scheduled for October, to Dec. 27–30 amid heightened security concerns following Yemeni attacks on the kingdom.

Organizers said the decision followed an assessment of the practical difficulties involved in staging the competition and protecting the event’s intended audience experience.

“The decision reflects Riyadh Season’s commitment to delivering sporting events to the highest standards, following an assessment of the organizational and logistical challenges associated with hosting the tournament and their potential impact on the quality of the audience experience,” Six Kings Slam organizers said in a statement reported by BBC Sport.

The tournament is part of Riyadh Season, Saudi Arabia’s entertainment program. Its venue, ANB Arena, is in northern Riyadh, approximately 31 kilometers from King Khalid International Airport.
