Pro-UAE elements launch campaign against military leaders in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 06 (YPA) – The homes of citizens and military and security leaders loyal to the Islah party in the city of Seiyun, the provincial capital of Hadramout, were subjected to organized looting by elements of the UAE-backed Transitional Council (STC), after they seized control of the city in early December 2025.

Activists from the province posted on social media platforms a shocking video of a woman belonging to the northern provinces, telling painful details about the theft of sheep, which is the source of her family’s livelihood, by the STC forces who were brought from Dhalea, Lahj and Aden province, south of Yemen.

The woman explained that these forces not only stole sheep, but also stormed the house of residents and took their contents.

Looting citizens’ property came after what residents described handing over the camps of the Islah Party-run first military zone in Seiyun to the STC elements as a play, where the operation turned into a cover for a wave of systematic violations.

The activists said that a deteriorating security situation and homes storming is led to internal displacement, as hundreds of residents of the city have fled to the villages and rural areas surrounding Seiyun to escape looting and intimidation.

The sons of Hadramout held the Saudi-UAE-led coalition morally responsible for what is happening, given their declared support for the STC.

They pointed out that the ongoing violations not only threaten the security stability in one of the most important cities of Hadramout, but also undermine any effort to achieve peace or reconstruction in the region, pushing towards further division and community congestion.
