Yemen defeats over Iraq at U-23 Gulf Cup

DOHA, Dec. 04 (YPA) – The Yemeni U-23 National Football Team achieved a significant upset this evening by securing a valuable victory over their Iraqi counterparts with a score of two goals to one.

The match took place at Aspire Stadium as part of the group stage fixtures for the 2025 U-23 Gulf Cup Championship.

With this result, the Yemeni national team successfully launches its campaign in the tournament with a strong and crucial step within Group B, which also includes the national teams of Iraq, the UAE, and Oman.

Four teams are competing in this group, where the first and second-place finishers will directly qualify for the tournament’s semi-finals.
