SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based National Authority for Human Rights on Friday condemned foreign interference in the affairs of the Yemeni judiciary, considering it a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and human rights principles.
In a statement, the authority explained it would follow with great indignation and condemnation the blatant interventions led by the American and Zionist entities and followed by Britain, in the internal affairs of Yemen, especially regarding the independence and sovereignty of the Yemeni judiciary.
These interventions were considered a flagrant violation of the principles, rules and provisions of international humanitarian law and human rights values, an unacceptable interference in national sovereignty, and contrary to all international charters and norms that require full respect for the independence of the judiciary.
The statement stressed that the Yemeni judiciary is an independent authority according to the Yemeni constitution, and exercises its constitutional and legal functions efficiently and transparently, and ensures a fair trial for all defendants, including intelligence cells that have been proven involved in espionage crimes and facilitate the targeting of civilians and infrastructure, which led to the killing of dozens of civilians and the destruction of their property.
It pointed out that the judgments of the Yemeni judiciary were based on documented and explicit confessions, evidence and evidence that cannot be questioned, and came as a result of independent and impartial judicial procedures and the embodiment of the rule of law, and the fight against impunity.
The statement pointed out that Washington and London’s criticism of the Yemeni judiciary’s rulings is nothing but a desperate and miserable attempt to protect their intelligence tools that were used in espionage and targeting crimes.. This is an explicit recognition of their direct involvement and involvement in the hostilities against the Yemeni people with training, funding and supervision.
The commission also stressed that the independence of the judiciary is a fundamental guarantee for the protection of rights and freedoms, and any violation of it is a violation of the fundamental rights of the Yemeni people.
“The United States and the United Kingdom have been held fully responsible for any humanitarian repercussions resulting from their continued interference in Yemen’s internal affairs,” the statement added, calling on the international community and international human rights institutions to stand firmly against these arrogant policies and push the intervening countries to respect the sovereignty of Yemen and the independence of its judiciary.
The Authority’s statement stressed that the Yemeni people and its judiciary would continue to defend their rights and gains, and foreign interference would not have any impact on their will or independent decision.
