Hezbollah condemns assassination of Hula Municipal Member as “systematic attack” on Lebanese institutions

BEIRUT, Nov. 23 (YPA) – Hezbollah in Lebanon on Sunday strongly condemned the assassination of Hussein Hussein, a member of the Hula Municipal Council, who was targeted by the “Israeli enemy” yesterday.

The Hezbollah Municipal Affairs file, in a statement issued today, described the assassination as a “new assault added to the continuous series of Israeli enemy crimes” that have recently targeted municipal employees and workers.

The statement asserted that the timing of the attack on Lebanese Independence Day confirms the enemy’s deliberate intention to send a hostile and direct message to the Lebanese state and its local institutions, in an attempt to “paralyze the role of municipalities and weaken their capabilities.”

Hezbollah stressed that the succession of these assassinations proves a “systematic assassination policy” adopted by “Israel” against civil workers, which constitutes a “blatant violation of international law,” calling on the Lebanese state to take a firm stance and direct measures to deter and prevent the continuation of these attacks.
