Heavy Israeli strikes hit southern Gaza despite ceasefire

GAZA, Nov. 23 (YPA) – Israeli forces stepped up air and artillery strike early Sunday across southern Gaza, with heavy bombardment reported in Rafah and Khan Younis.

Military vehicles also fired toward Khan Younis as warplanes launched repeated attacks alongside tank shelling that created “fire belts” in the city, according to local sources.

Israeli occupation forces demolished several buildings in southeastern Khan Younis while artillery units intensified fire across the south.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said Saturday that “Israel” has carried out 497 violations of the ceasefire since it took effect, including 27 violations that left 24 people dead and 87 wounded.
