ADEN, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Head of the Al-Rased Foundation for Human Rights revealed violations including torture in the cities of the Saudi-UAE-held Aden and Mocha.
Anis Al-Sharaik, the head of the Foundation, confirmed in a post on Facebook that serious abuses and violations were observed in the “Criminal Investigation” prisons in Aden, against a number of abductees and detainees during night investigations.
He called on the pro-coalition authorities in Aden to put an end to the serious violations against detainees and to hold accountable those involved in the abuses.
On the other hand, Al-Sharaik reported similar violations against abductees and detainees in prisons in the Tihama coastal areas controlled by UAE-backed factions.
In another post, Al-Sharaik accused Tariq Saleh, and his brother Ammar, the nephew of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, of being behind these violations and of imposing a widespread cover-up to conceal numerous crimes against abductees and those forcibly disappeared in the western coast.
He pointed out that Tariq and Ammar Saleh had managed to subject the western coast to a “frightening” and unprecedented security grip.
