Pro-coalition leader declares rebellion against Tariq Afash

HODEIDA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – A leader of the pro-coalition ‘Tahami Movement’ announced on Sunday an open escalation against the UAE-funded ‘Tariq Afash’ forces had started in southern Hodeida.

He affirmed that the escalation is in response to the continued kidnapping of the movement’s leader, Mohammed Yahya Al-Mandai, for the second consecutive day.

The movement’s leader, Sami Barry, issued a fiery warning to the leaders of the factions of  Tariq Afash, the nephew the former Ali Abdullah Saleh, holding them responsible for provoking the people of Tihama and threatening them with what he described as an ‘honorable escalation’ to stop the violations and targeting affecting the people of Tihama.

“Enough of your tools and tools is a provocation to Tihama,” Barry said, in an apparent reference to the incident of al-Manda’i’s abduction and detention in the Abu Musa al-Ash’ari camp detention center in the city of al-Khokha.

He warned against any transgression against Tihama, its symbols, or resistance, stressing that such actions would have serious and regrettable consequences.

Barry explained the capabilities of Tihama’s sons, stating, “Every sincere Tihami fighter is equivalent to a thousand men from armed factions, so do not underestimate the men.”

He also emphasized that Tihama rejected silencing the free people, affirming that any political or military partnership must not come at the expense of humiliating the dignity of Tihama’s sons or restricting their freedom.
