GAZA, Nov. 08 (YPA) -The US military-civilian coordination center tasked with implementing President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan is taking over from “Israel” as the overseer of the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, media outlets reported on Saturday, citing a US official.
The official added that the transition, completed on Friday, now makes Israelis “part of the dialogue,” clarifying that decisions will be made by the broader body, according to the Washington Post.
The newspaper also cited several sources familiar with the early weeks of the center’s operations, describing it as “chaotic and indecisive.”
According to familiar sources, the move reduces “Israel” to a secondary role in determining how aid enters Gaza and its type, while the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center takes the lead.
As a result, responsibility has shifted from the Israeli Government Coordination Unit to the new Civil-Military Coordination Center, located in southern “Israel” near the Gaza border.
The decision coincides with intensified US efforts to move to the second phase of the Gaza agreement. The center, led by the United States, includes representatives from more than 40 countries and organizations.
