ISTANBUL, Nov. 08 (YPA) – The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul, Turkey, has issued arrest warrants for genocide against the “Israeli” prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and senior officials within his government.
Among 37 suspects listed were the “Israeli” war minister, Israel Katz, the so-called “national” security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the army chief Lt Gen Eyal Zamir, said a statement from the Istanbul prosecutor’s office read.
It added that the warrants were issued against the suspects for committing “crimes against humanity” and “genocide” in Gaza, as well as for targeting the “Global Sumud Flotilla” aimed at breaking the blockade of Gaza.
On May 2, 2024, the Turkish government announced a complete suspension of all exports and imports with Israel until a permanent ceasefire is declared and the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza is ensured.
The ceasefire has ended the Israeli genocide in Gaza that started on October 8, 2023, resulting in 69,000 deaths and more than 170,000 injuries, most of them women and children. The United Nations estimates reconstruction costs at $70 billion.
