WASHINGTON, Nov. 07 (YPA) – The American website Axios reported that the UAE has signed an agreement to purchase Bullfrog self-defense systems, which are advanced turrets specifically designed to counter the threat of drones.
This deal, which also included South Korea, confirms the seriousness with which military forces in the Middle East region are dealing with the increasing and evolving unconventional aerial threats.
The UAE’s interest in the Bullfrog system comes in the context of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its air defenses against drone attacks.
Reports indicate that the new system is distinguished by its ability to integrate artificial intelligence and advanced sensors with conventional and widely deployed firearms, such as 240mm and M2 machine guns, making it an effective and economical tactical solution for dealing with swarms of low-cost drones.
These turrets, called Eminem, have been showcased. They are mounted on unmanned ground vehicles to form a mobile line of defense that can be rapidly deployed to protect the most vulnerable sites, including oil installations and sensitive economic areas.
