Security achievements made by Yemen Coast Guard in Red Sea

SANAA, Nov. 05 (YPA) – Yemen’s Coast Guard forces affiliated with the Sanaa government announced on Wednesday significant security and maritime achievements during the past three months in the Red Sea sector of Hodeida province.

In a statement, they confirmed their control and securing of Yemeni waterways and ports, especially in light of regional tensions related to “supporting Gaza” and the ban on Israeli navigation.

The statement clarified that navy forces carried out more than 17,600 security and maritime missions. These included securing commercial and oil tankers arriving at Yemeni ports, conducting 80 maritime patrols to secure vessels anchored offshore, and 69 missions specifically for the protection of international vessels.

15,948 tasks were carried out to secure and regulate commercial and oil trucks and trailers within the ports. In addition, they secured the entry and exit of more than 70,000 fishing boats at various fish landing centers and harbors, including Eritrean boats that were dealt with according to legal procedures.

in the humanitarian side, the Coast Guard’s search and rescue team conducted over 350 maritime awareness and rescue missions, during which they reunited missing children with their families. They also continued to secure beaches and tourist areas to protect citizens and visitors.

The Coast Guard Authority affirmed that these efforts came within the framework of strengthening maritime security and stability and protecting national sovereignty in territorial waters, while observers believed that these achievements reflected Sanaa’s success in turning the Red Sea into an area of ​​national control and stability.
