CAPTIALS, Oct. 08 (YPA) – Capitals and major cities across the globe witnessed massive demonstrations on October 7, 2025, commemorating the second anniversary of the outbreak of the Israeli war of annihilation on the Gaza Strip.
Demonstrators carried Palestinian flags draped over their shoulders in the streets of Bogotá, Colombia, in solidarity with Gaza on the war’s second anniversary.
Mexico saw a national march condemning the international silence regarding the events in Gaza and demanding the severing of ties with the Israeli occupation entity.
Large crowds took to the streets of Madrid, calling for an end to the genocide in Palestine and expressing support for the Palestinian resistance.
Thousands of students from King’s College, the London School of Economics, University College London (UCL), and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) marched in the British capital in a central demonstration under the slogan “Two Years of Genocide in Gaza.” The march proceeded through the city’s streets amid heavy security measures.
In the United States, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in New York and Portland to mark the second anniversary of the war on Gaza, raising Palestinian flags and chanting slogans demanding an end to American support for the Israeli occupation.
In Argentina, Palestinian flags were raised in the heart of the capital, Buenos Aires, where hundreds of activists participated in a march through the main streets, chanting slogans denouncing “the Israeli occupation’s crimes” and calling for an end to the “siege and genocide in Gaza.”
In the Colombian city of Medellín, demonstrators burned an effigy featuring the image of US President Donald Trump alongside the American and Israeli flags, in a symbolic rejection of Western support for the Israeli occupation.
In the capital, Santiago, Chile, University of Chile students gathered in front of the university building, raising banners demanding the severing of relations with the Israeli occupation and chanting slogans of solidarity with the children and women in the Gaza Strip.
The Greek capital, Athens, also witnessed demonstrations in front of the Israeli embassy, where riot police intervened and arrested a number of protesters.
